The Story of Jesus is a sixteen page, colorfully illustrated booklet, written at a third grade reading level, that shares the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The story guides readers through a step-by-step process to become part of God’s family and ends with a simple salvation prayer.
The booklet was created in 1991, by World Compassion Terry Law Ministries as a follow-up evangelistic tool for a Christian cartoon series called SuperBook, which was broadcast across the former Soviet Union. More than three million viewers requested SOJs causing a major mail overflow in one of Moscow’s post offices and over one million people wrote in for additional follow-up materials after reading it and committing themselves to Christ.
Since that exciting beginning, more than 27 million copies have been produced in 53 languages. There are currently 43 languages of the SOJ available for anyone in the world to download and use.
